ABOUT COCOON YOGA

Cocoon Yoga is a cozy, neighbourhood, yoga studio nestled in the heart of Morningside, Auckland. The studio is a sanctuary where people of all abilities, shapes and sizes are welcome. Our mission is to make yoga accessible to everyone, ensuring that each person who walks through our doors feels empowered and supported on their personal wellness journey.

The studio uses Infared heating for its therapeutic benefits, helping with muscle flexibility and joint mobility. It also creates a warm soothing environment, encouraging a deeper state of physical and mental relaxation. It feels particularly delicious in the colder months.

OUR CLASSES

HEATED FLOW

Heated Flow is a dynamic yoga experience where we focus on the fusion of breath and movement, whilst fostering mindfulness throughout. This class varies its themes and body area emphasis regularly, incorporating sun salutations and a series of fluid movements. This class cultivates flexibility, strength and mind body connection, helping you become more aware of your body’s position and movements.

HEated Hatha

Heated Hatha is a therapeutic set sequence of postures done in a heated room. The postures in this practice involve holding positions steadily encouraging a deeper inner awareness while building strength.

Been a set sequence, this practice offers a sense of safety and comfort because people can predict and anticipate the sequence of movement. It also helps measure progress and makes the practice super meditative.

YIN NIDRA

Yin Nidra is a profoundly calming class crafted to ease tension in both body and nervous system. The initial 40 minutes focus on gentle prolonged stretches supported by props. These facilitate a gradual release of tightness and tension. This tranquil opening is succeeded by a Yoga Nidra session. Yoga Nidra is a traditional guided relaxation practice that can promotes a deep sense of peace and rejuvenation.
